John F. Deprey, 82, Green Bay, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at home. Born in the Town of Red River, July 3, 1932, he is the son of the late John and Rose (Bader) Deprey. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1952 -1955. He married the former Donna Joski, April 28th, 1956, at St. Philip the Apostle Church, Green Bay. John worked at Bay West Paper Co. and Essco, Inc. until his retirement in 1994. John’s proudest achievement was his family. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church, the choir, acted as an altar server, and served on many committees including the Building and Grounds. John was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and the Barbershopper’s. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends, gardening and singing.
John is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Diane Lautenslager, Mary (Pat) Petasek, Julie (Chris) Joniaux, John (Sue Rentmeester) Deprey, and Janae (Erik) Kakulis; grandchildren, Clint (Wendy) Petasek, Clayton (Heather) Lautenslager, Jessica (Adam) Pearson, Pamela (Justinn) Heraly, Ashley (Brendt) Deprey Peeters, Stephanie Joniaux, Megan Deprey (and special friend, Amanda), Ben (Fiancée, Melissa) Joniaux, Sigurds Kakulis, Lukas Kakulis, Nicole Rentmeester (special friend, Aaron), Matt Rentmeester, and Shawn Rentmeester; great grandchildren, Jake, Alex, David, Frankie, Thomas, Anna, Jonathon, Alivia, Norman, Colton, and one on the way; sister, Madeline Derenne; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy Johnson, Etta Deprey, Tom Seidl, Valerie (Hal) DuBois, Mary Ann (Cal) DeBaker, Bob (Sandy) Joski, Barbara Lax, Patricia Joski, and Rose (Ron) Piontek; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin and Jim Deprey; sisters, Emerine Johnson and Rose Seidl; brother-in-law, Sonny Derenne; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nick and Anna Joski; brothers-in-law, John Joski and Norbert Lax.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Sunday, from 4-8 PM. Rosary service 7:45 PM Sunday night. Monday’s visitation will begin at 9:30 AM and continue until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony Cirignani, OFM officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
