Jean S. Volletz

Jean S. Volletz, 82, Green Bay, has taken her last trip and died peacefully on April 28, 2016, with family by her side. Born on June 28, 1933, in Lancaster, Wis., she is the daughter of the late Harold “Steve” and Maxine (Philipps) Stevens. Jean is a graduate of Lancaster High School. On December 18, 1954 she married John W. Volletz while they were students at UW-Madison, and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2009. Jean graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in economics, and she attained her MBA from UW-Oshkosh. She proudly worked as the manager of her husband’s law firm for over 40 years. Jean was a longtime member of Union Congregational Church, where she was deeply involved with the Open and Affirming program. She was also involved with Mobile Meals and Super Cooks. Jean volunteered with the Service League, and enjoyed golfing and her bridge club.

Jean is survived by four daughters, Diane (Lawrence Abbott) Volletz, Menomonee Falls, Linda (Dr. Edward) Van Beek, Betsy (Alex) Zacarias, and Mamie Volletz, all of Green Bay; four grandchildren, Katherine (Eric) Premo, Patrick Van Beek, and Victoria and Lina Zacarias; two great grandchildren, Lola Jean and Walter John Premo; one sister and brother-in-law, Ann (Sam) Ingebritsen, Menlo Park, CA; and her nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, John Stevens.

Visitation in the English Room at Union Congregational Church, 716 S. Madison St., Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial service 4:00 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Bridget Flad Daniels officiating. Malcore (East) Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with funeral services, 432-5579.
