Jean Ann Villiesse

July 31, 1941 — June 18, 2013

Jean Ann Villiesse, lifelong resident of Green Bay, joined her husband in heaven, on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the age of 71 at a local hospital in the presence of her family.

Jean was born on July 31, 1941, in Green Bay. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Adele (Romuald) Queoff. Jean graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1959. On September 14, 1963, she married Gerald Joseph Villiesse at Saints Peter and Paul Church. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.

Jean immediately entered the workforce following her graduation from high school. She worked at the Green Bay Credit Bureau for several years before leaving the workforce permanently to start a family. Jean loved children. She was a loving and devoted mother. In addition to raising her daughters, she provided childcare in her home for many other families for approximately thirty-five years. She provided loving care for others’ children and treated them as if they were her own. Families came and went, but she enjoyed keeping in touch with them, listening to their stories, and watching their children grow and evolve. She retired from childcare in 2004 to devote her time to care for her husband who was battling Alzheimer’s Disease and to provide full-time childcare for her granddaughters, Madelyn and Morgan. They were the apples of her eye. She was very involved and enjoyed every aspect of their lives from caring for them to watching their dance classes and softball games. She was their biggest fan.

Jean and her late husband were active and longtime members of the Hobby Greenhouse Club (AKA Hobby Gardner’s Club). They hosted many events in their home and Jean wrote the monthly newsletter.

Jean was a very talented person. She enjoyed cross-stitch, knitting, and crocheting. She knit countless baby hats and donated them to the local hospitals. She would be most remembered for knitting Christmas stockings, taking orders every year to knit them for the children of the children she had knit for years ago. She, along with her late husband, participated in and sold some of her work in area craft shows for several years. Jean also enjoyed cooking and baking. She was an excellent cook and never skimped on the good ingredients. She would be most remembered for her desserts and soups, especially rhubarb torte and green bean soup. When Jean wasn’t busy taking care of children, knitting, or cooking, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She devoted much of her time caring for sick family members and friends and always provided a listening ear for those in their time of need.

She will be sadly missed by her loving children, daughter Noel (Villiesse) Hansel (Philip Resch) and her daughters all of De Pere: daughter Jenna Villiesse (Susan Grundy) of Appleton; beloved brother, Francis Queoff and his children, Heather (Kirk) Drossart and Scott (Allyson) Queoff and their mother, Lynn Tisher, all of Green Bay; sister-in-law, Gerri Villiesse of Green Bay, and cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends; her loving and faithful companion, her dog, Shakespeare.

Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald “Jerry” Villiesse, just days ago; her parents and her brothers-in law, Robert (Charity) Villiesse and Earl Villiesse.

Gathering time to celebrate the lives of Jerry and Jean will be held at Stadium View, Sunday, June 30th from 1-4 pm. Malcore (East) Funeral Home is assisting the family. Visit www.malcorefuneralhome.com to sign the guest book and share memories.
