Jan Mellberg, 71, De Pere, peacefully met God on Monday, June 30. Born in Green Bay, September 4, 1942, she is the daughter of the late Donald and Genevieve (Gussert) Parmentier. Jan married Conde “Skip” Haning, in 1965 and he preceded her in death. She married Rene’ Mellberg on July 20th, 1990, in De Pere. She balanced a successful career as a top real estate agent while raising seven children and still finding time to indulge in her personal passions. Jan was on a competitive swim team in Florida, she ran half marathons, competed in triathlons, practiced power yoga, and recently taught children how to swim at the YMCA. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. Jan lived each day as though it were her last. By 8 A.M. she had already swam, ran, and completed a power hour of hot yoga.
Jan lived her life by the motto “ATTITUDE and GRATITUDE”. She was goal oriented, inspirational, and loved by everyone who met her.
Jan is survived by her husband, Rene’ of De Pere; children, Conde “Chip” Haning of Kansas, Dan (Teri Berg) Haning of Green Bay, Nathan Haning of Ashwaubenon, Matt Haning of Florida, Peter Mellberg of Allouez, Steve (Erin Hunter) Mellberg of De Pere, and Molly (Matt) Daanen of De Pere; 7 grandchildren, Dalton, Jack, Grace, Samuel, Hayden, Jameson, and Caitlin; siblings, Donald (Margaurite Thompson) Parmentier of Menomonee Falls, Kathleen (Howard) Hansen of De Pere, Pattie Nguyen of Green Bay, Michael (Karla) Parmentier of Maribel, Jeanne (Joe) Neidenbach of De Pere; many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, July 3rd, Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. with the Most Reverend Robert Morneau officiating. MALCORE (East) Funeral Home cared for the family.
