Glenn J. Larscheid, 94, life long resident of Green Bay, died peacefully, Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Rebekah Haven. Born in Green Bay, January 18, 1922, he is the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Gille) Larscheid. Glenn graduated from East High School the Class of 1939. He served in the US Coast Guard from June 1942 until June of 1946 aboard the USS Peterson DE-152. Glenn married the former Kathleen Egan, October 26, 1946, in Syracuse, New York and she preceded him in death on December 15th, 1988. He worked as a Mail Carrier for the USPS from 1952 until his retirement in 1978. Glenn served as a Green Bay City Alderman on the Northeast side of Green Bay during the 1970’s. He enjoyed his many travels across the United States, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. Glenn loved to fish for perch with his brother, Kenny, winter in Arizona and Florida and read a good book.
He is survived by his children, Mary Ellen (Tom) Mulligan of Chatham, NJ, Peter (significant other, Nancy Fonder) Larscheid of De Pere, and Patricia (Carl) Norkooli of Peyton, CO; 3 grandchildren, Kathleen (Chris) Waldron, Jennifer (Scott) Housman, and Nathan Larscheid; 6 great grandchildren, Liam, Colin, Emma, Dylan, Natalie, and Julia; sister, Nathalie (Firman) Balza of Green Bay; further survived by other relatives and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth (Rosemarie) Larscheid and Carlton (Phyllis) Larscheid.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral. Memorial Mass, Saturday, 10:30 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony Cirignani, OFM officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to fund research for glaucoma and acute macular degeneration can be made to the Bright Focus Foundation in Glenn’s name.
