Gerald “Jerry” Counard, 83, Green Bay, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013. Born on September 1, 1929, he is the son of the late Earl and Irene (Cravillion) Counard. Gerald married the former Joyce Klotzbuecher on September 13, 1949, in Brussels and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2010. He worked at Proctor and Gamble for 35 years before retiring in 1989. His co-workers knew him as “Cisco”. He also worked part time for 15 years at Schneider National. Gerald enjoyed playing cards, and listening to his music. He also enjoyed his time at Shawano Lake fishing, pontooning, and visiting with friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his four children, Rosanne (Paul Delfosse) Shackelford of Green Bay, Dennis (Penny) Counard of Luxemburg, Daniel (Cheri) Counard of Green Bay, and Tina (Todd) Thompson of Brussels; 8 grandchildren, Troy (Lilli) Shackelford, Dennis Counard and special friend Christine Neubauer, Ann (Fran) Lindquist, Angela (Cory) Kruse, Joseph and Nicholas Counard, Crystal (Brandon) Belschner, and Tyler Thompson and special friend, Brittany Vlies; 10 great grandchildren, Nethanial Barnes, Willow Shackelford, Mackenzie, Dennis, and Wesley Counard, Max, Jake, and Zac Lindquist, Landen and Kyler Kruse.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joyce.
Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home University Ave. at Baird St. Tuesday from 9 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 11 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony V. Cirignani, OFM. Burial at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
