George “Cowboy” Knight, 79, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday morning, January 7, 2015, with his loving wife at his side. Born on June 7, 1935, in Missouri, he is the son of the late Elmer and Gladys (Parson) Knight. After moving to Green Bay, he was employed at Reimer’s Meat. It was here that he met the love of his life, Gladys Tassoul. The couple was married on November 24, 1956. Over the years, George also worked with Liedman’s, Northwest Engineering, Carver Boat and Packerland Packaging. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. George always owned an older model Cadillac and loved to work on cars. George also enjoyed playing BINGO but will fondly be remembered for his support of the Dallas Cowboys.
George is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gladys; one daughter, Teri Hooker; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Elisabeth Knight; five grandchildren, Mandy “Teeter”, Xavier “Buckshot”, Jesse, Jenny, and Larry, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Blake, Chase, Auggie and Noah; feline companion, Dusty; further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Randy; son-in-law, Darvin Hooker; and his feline companion, Babe.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Monday, Jan. 12, from 4pm until the time of the service. The memorial service will be celebrated at 7pm Monday at the funeral home.
