George M. Birr

George M. Birr, 51, Sobieski, died unexpectedly on December 21, 2015. Born on January 21, 1964, in Oconto Falls, he is the son of Florence (Aprill) and the late Alvin Birr. George was very mechanically inclined, and worked in masonry and farming for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting.

George is survived by three children, Holly Birr (special friend, Will Szoszorek), Gillett, Chantel Birr, Bellevue, and Katelyn Birr, Oconto; two grandchildren; two brothers, Henry (Beth) Birr, Little Falls, MN, and Dick (Julie) Birr, New Berlin; three sisters, Susie Schuettpelz, Sobieski, Audrey Arneson, Town of Morgan, and Deb (Ron) Carter, Hutchinson, MN; mother, Florence Birr, Oconto Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3374 County Rd C, Oconto Falls (Town of Morgan), Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the memorial service at 6:00 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Heykes officiating. Malcore (West) Funeral Home assisted the family with services, (920) 499-4100.
