Gene Toebe

October 2, 1944 — February 28, 2016

Gene W. Toebe, 71, Green Bay, died after a long and courageous battle with cancer on February 28, 2016, at a local nursing home. Born on October 2, 1944, in northeast Wisconsin, he is the son of the late Sylvester and Mary (Reese) Toebe. Gene proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. On August 30, 1970 he married the former Sharon DeNamur at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; three sons, Eric (Trisha) Toebe, Oshkosh, Evan Toebe, Elkhorn, and Tyler Toebe (special friend Charlotte Haass), West Allis; one grandson, Fox Toebe; two sisters, Julene (Larry) Butz, Minnesota, and Diane (Dave) Olson, Green Bay; sisters-in-law, Terry Toebe, and Debbie Toebe; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Sylvester, Martin, Ervin, and Royal; two sisters, Delilah, Germaine “Dolly.”

Visitation at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Steve Fewell officiating.
