Elaine Gilson

February 1, 1936 — July 21, 2016

Elaine (DeMeuse) Gilson, 80, New Franken, passed away July 21, 2016. Born on February 1, 1936, in Sturgeon Bay, she is the daughter of the late Nelson and Genevieve DeMeuse. She married John Gilson, Jr., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay, WI, on September 17, 1955, and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2013. Elaine was a proud homemaker and dairy farmer for many years with her husband John. She was a long time member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Dyckesville. Elaine enjoyed animals, flowers, going to the cottage, baking, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her six children, Debbie and Gerry Balli, Barbara (Marvin Pavlik) Gilson, Jeanie and Roger Detrie, Sandy and Dan LaLuzerne all of Green Bay, Linda (Phil Greve) Gilson, and Dan (Stacey Vogel) Gilson both of New Franken; eleven grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Marie (Bill) Felhofer; brother Joseph Edward (Diane) DeMeuse; brother-in-law, Ken Delsart and sisters-in-law, Lois DeMeuse and Marianne DeMeuse.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, John; four sisters, Mildred DeMeuse, Marion (Paul) Lovering, Joyce (Floyd) Hilsabeck, and Rita Mae Delsart; two brothers, Bob and Donald DeMeuse.

Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St, Sunday, July 24, from 4 PM until 8 PM. Parish wake service at 7:30 PM with Pat Ratajczak parish director officiating. Visitation will continue Monday morning at St Louis Catholic Church in Dyckesville, N8726 County Line Rd, from 10 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Rev. John Van Deuren officiating. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

Special thanks to the third floor staff of Santa Maria for the kind and loving care given to our mother. Also, a special thank you to Unity Hospice for their care and compassion.
