R. Duane Perry

Duane Perry, 92, Suamico, formerly of Burlington/Williams Bay area, Wis., died on May 5, 2016, at a local assisted living center. Born on February 28, 1924, in Milwaukee, he is the son of the late Arthur and Verna (Karges) Perry. Duane proudly served in the United States Army, most prominently in the Canine Corps, from 1943-1946. He obtained his Bachelors degree in accounting from UW-Madison. On August 6, 1949, he married the former Margaret “Peg” Badenoch at Plymouth Congregational Church in Burlington, Wisconsin, and she preceded him in death in 1995. Duane worked for the Bureau of Municipal Audit for nearly 35 years, until his retirement. He enjoyed reading, playing cards, outdoor leisure, and church activities. Duane loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, and his country.

Duane is survived by three children, Ray (Chris) Perry, Bellevue, Anne Schultz, Wilton, Wis., and Laura (Scott) Boniface, Cleveland, OH; seven grandchildren, Ray (Amanda) Perry, Mike Perry, and Jenny (Jeremy) Crees, Luke (Michelle) Mathews, Peter Mathews, Jeff Schultz, and Andrew Boniface; five great grandchildren, Drew, Chase, and Cole Crees, Addison Perry, and Alex Mathews;

He was preceded in death by three loving wives, Peg Badenoch Perry, Edith Hansen Perry, and Ruth Helland Perry; parents; one daughter, Helen Mathews, two sons-in-law, Lindy Schultz and Lee Mathews.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Calvary Community Church, N2620 Wisconsin 50 & Harris Rd, Lake Geneva, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Malcore (East) Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home to benefit a cause that was important to Duane’s heart.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care. An extra special thank you to Alpha Senior Concepts in Suamico for everything that they’ve done in the past year.
