Dorothy E. Kamke, 67, Green Bay, died peacefully in her sleep at home on October 15, 2014, with her husband by her side. Born on December 23, 1946, in Norway, MI, she is the daughter of the late William and Shirley (Merrill) Sonnenberg. On October 14, 1967, she married Gerald Kamke in Green Bay, and they renewed their vows two years ago. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. She also liked traveling throughout the United States and collecting memorabilia.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband; three children, Gerald Kamke, Green Bay, Ron (Denise) Kamke, Green Bay, and Kelly (Bob) Mehorczyk, Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Hayley Kamke (special friend, Andrew), Adam Kamke, Ryan Mehorczyk, Kyle Mehorczyk, Chelsea Lemerond, and Jessica Lemerond; mother, Shirley; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Billy Sonnenberg, Arthur Sonnenberg, Albert (Denise) Sonnenberg; six sisters and five brothers-in-law, Margie (Bill) Harvath, Diane (Loren) Dissmore, Vicki (Steve) Fick, Susie Nushart, Sandy (Kevin) Bayer and Helen (Brian) Sterling; one sister-in-law, Sharon (Leo) Luebke; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; one sister-in-law, Peggy Sonnenberg, and one nephew, Ben Sonnenberg; and her in-laws, Walter and Mildred Kamke.
Visitation in the chapel at Green Bay Community Church, 600 Cardinal Ln., Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Celebration of Dorothy’s life 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel with Pastor Kim Sechler officiating. Malcore (West) Funeral Home is assisting the family with services, 499-4100.
