Dorothy G. Berendsen

November 5, 1925 — February 19, 2018

Dorothy G. Berendsen, 92, Green bay, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Feb. 19, 2018. Born on November 5, 1925, in Brookside, Wis., she is the daughter of the late Michael and Caroline (Larscheid) Maloney. Dorothy graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1945. Dorothy married her high school sweetheart, Raymond G. Berendsen, on July 27, 1946 at Saints Peter and Paul Church and he preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2007. Dorothy worked as an AVON lady and at Prange Way. She will be remembered for the quilts that she made for family. Dorothy also loved to dance, sing, and play BINGO. Ray and Dorothy loved to travel, visiting Europe, Canada, and all 50 states, excluding Alaska, and taking a Caribbean Cruise.

Dorothy is survived by five children, Zib (Larry) Phillips, Kathie (Fred) Gerondale, John (Lori) Berendsen, Carrie (Al) Jauquet, JR (Diane) Berendsen; 16 grandchildren, Kim (Noel) Kubiak, Jamie Phillips, Shane Phillips (Shelly), Christian Phillips, Fred (Jessika) Gerondale, Stacy (Bob) Allaire, Amy Guerts (Rob), Erik (Erika) Berendsen, Ben Berendsen (Amber), Tyler Berendsen (Amanda), Hannah (Ashton) Canales, Nicole (Matt) Schoenwalder, Danielle (Josh) Burton, Nathan (Becky) Lison, Jordan (Kailey) Berendsen, Landon Berendsen, Brandon Phillips, Cory Phillips; 28 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Brooke, Brittany, Caitlyn, Peyton, Ty, Kade, Kiara, Olivia, Libbie, Ali, Phillip, Gavin, Nathan, Mariah, Macy, Hadley, Kale, Greyson, Kamdyn, Griffin, Emma, Kate, Jacob, Amelia, Charlotte, Aubrey, and Micah; nine-great-great grandchildren, and one on the way, Alessa, Makiah, EmmyLou, Aria, Rian, R.J., Rowan, Abel, and Lilyann; three sisters, Betty Tree (Paul), Joan (David) Herlache, and Penny (Tom) Maki; one brother, Steve Maloney; one brother-in-law, Lloyd Pelky; many nieces and nephews, and special family member, Sid Scutt, New York.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mercedes (Bernie Clark) Pelky, Delores (Don) Gleffe, one brother and sister-in-law, Mike (Marian) Maloney; one brother-in-law, Jack Tree; one foster-daughter, Carol Stevens Scutt.

Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Tuesday, February 27th, from 3:00 pm until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 7:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with Deacon Paul Umentum officiating. Burial in Mountain, WI.
