Donald W. Hansen

Donald W. Hansen, 83, Howard, died peacefully at a local hospital on August 7, 2014. Born on March 31, 1931, in Ashland, Wis., he is the son late Willard and Laverne (Gardner) Hansen. On May 31, 1958, he married the former Patricia Foris at St. Agnes Church in Ashland. Don was very proud to serve in the United States Navy from January 5, 1951 until November 2, 1954. He worked as an electrician at Wisconsin Public Service for over 25 years, until his retirement. Don enjoyed golfing and hunting, and he was an excellent marksman. He was also an avid Wisconsin sports fan.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; Kathryn (Sayed) Elmarakby, Newtown, PA, and Donald Hansen, Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Maggie (Rehan) Elmarakby, Adam Elmarakby, and Erika Hansen; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother and sister-in-law, Willard (Mary Ellen) Hansen.

Visitation at St. John the Baptist Parish, 2597 Glendale Ave., Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. John Bergstadt officiating. Burial at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Howard. Malcore (West) Funeral Home is assisting the family, 499-4100.
