Diane M. Renier

October 9, 1938 — October 17, 2016

Diane (Baudhuin) Renier, 78, went to her eternal home on October 17, 2016, surrounded by her family. Diane was born October 9, 1938, on the Derenne homestead in Duval, the only child of Raymond and Jennie (Derenne) Baudhuin. She attended Fairland Grade School and Brussels Bronco High, where she was Homecoming Queen and graduated in 1956.

Diane married Larry Renier on June 14, 1958. She was proud of her work as Secretary at R.A. Stern Naval Architects for several years before the couple began a family. Though they celebrated 58 years of marriage, they faced many hardships in that time, including the loss of two daughters. Throughout everything, Diane kept the faith; religiously praying the rosary and sending prayers for her family though she could not be physically present with them. She liked reminiscing, looking at old pictures, and could speak fluent Walloon having grown up with Belgian immigrants. Over the years, she enjoyed vacationing at their trailer in Wausaukee, playing cards, crocheting, shopping, and watching the Packers.

Diane is survived by her devoted husband, Larry; one daughter, Pam (Bruce) Alberts; and their daughter Kristin; one son-in-law, Marty Baudhuin; and his children, Matthew (Laura), Nick (Bethany), and Kimberly (fiance, Matt Gleason); one great-grandson, Noah. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Janice LaCrosse and Lucille Renier; Godmother, Dorothy Mancheski; and many other special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first, her daughter, Kim Riedy, and later her daughter, Lisa Baudhuin. Also preceding her were brothers-in-law, Norman LaCrosse and Roy Renier; Godfather, Harold Baudhuin; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, Friday, Oct. 21st. from 10 am until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass 12 noon, Friday at the church with Rev. Jerome J. Taddy officiating. Entombment in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Malcore (East) Funeral Home is assisting the family.

The family sends its deepest gratitude to the staff of Santa Maria Nursing Home, who, even when it wasn’t easy, lovingly cared for Diane for many years. They also wish to thank Unity Hospice who helped ease her transition with their kindness and compassion. We know she has left her broken physical body behind to walk freely and find peace with her family in Heaven.
