Darlene A. Gable

Darlene A. Gable, 68, Green Bay, died unexpectedly at a local hospital on December 25, 2013, with family by her side. Born on May 23, 1945, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Arthur and Marion (Pigeon) DeGroot. She was a 1961 graduate of Green Bay Preble. In September 1976, she married Jerome “Jerry” Gable. Darlene worked at Northside Laundry for several years, and owned and operated Vacuum Cleaner Service Center with her husband since 1994. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, baking, and spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren, and pets.

Darlene is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry; three loving children, Timothy DeKeyser, Aila DeKeyser, and Connie Gable, all of Green Bay; three adoring grandchildren, Jayde and Jeran DeKeyser, and Kiley Stanelle; three brothers, Thomas (Teddy) DeGroot, Win (Sandy) DeGroot, and Jim (Jeanne) DeGroot; two sisters, Marilyn Hermsen, and Sue (Mark) Deschane; one sister-in-law, Mary DeGroot; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Art DeGroot; one sister, Sally DeGroot; and one brother-in-law, Kenneth Hermsen.

Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home & Crematory, University Ave. at Baird St., Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service. Memorial service 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ken DeGroot, O. Praem officiating.
