Cythera G. "CY" Moyer, 90, Green Bay, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at home. Born July 21, 1923, in Chicago she is the daughter of the late Frank and Cythera (Elsdon) Guthridge. CY was raised in Wilmette, IL and the entire family were life-time members of the Wilmette Baptist Church. While attending New Trier High School, she dated Charlton Heston. CY later graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. She remained loyal to her Tri Delta Sorority of which her mother and four sisters held membership. Throughout her life, her family enjoyed many memories at the cottage they built in Door County. In 1943, CY married John Moyer. In retirement, the couple moved to Florida and remained there until John’s death in 1992. CY later moved to Green Bay in 2001 to be near her daughter, Nancy Revelle. While in Green Bay, she was a member of Peace United Methodist Church. CY will be remembered for her enjoyment of playing Bridge but more so, playing golf. She was particularly proud of the fact that she did accomplish making a hole-in-one.
CY is survived by her daughter, Nancy Revelle of Green Bay; three grandchildren, Michael Costa (Sophia), Katy Costa (John Carlson), and Tim Revelle (Mila); several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Daniels and Gener Littell (Everett); many loving nieces and nephews.
Also preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy Kelling (Dennis); one grandson, Christopher Costa; and two sisters, Joann Stewart and Janice Brannen.
Private family services were held at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home. CY will be buried in Florida National Cemetery next to her husband, John. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in CY’s memory.
