Chum Ying Lee, 89, Bellevue, passed away peacefully at home, December 18, 2015. Born on November 19, 1926 in Shing Ning, Guangdong Province, China. She married Joseph Lee in December of 1949 in Guangdong, China and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2001. The couple then immigrated to the U.S. on October 16, 1963, making their home in Atlanta, Georgia. On April 18, 1964 they moved to Chicago where Chum Ying and her husband eventually purchased La Toy’s Restaurant and together operated the business until their retirement on December 25, 1981. The couple then moved to the Green Bay area in March of 1982. She especially treasured the times she spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She is survived by her six sons and their spouses, Peter and Theresa Lee, Philip and Cynthia Lee all of Green Bay, Paul and Sharon Lee of Falmouth Mass., James and Mary Kay Lee, Francis and Jane Lee, and Victor and Beryl Lee all of Green Bay; one daughter, Maria Sze of Green Bay; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fr. Joseph C.J. Lee; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Lee, and Mae (James) Lee Korynta.
Chum Ying was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law, Wong Drong Sze; brothers-in-law, Joseph C.K. (Mary) Lee, Joseph C.T. Lee; sister-in-law, Sr. Catherine Mary Lee.
Visitation at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St. Saturday January 2, from 10 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM (noon) at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
