Carol S. Terens

October 2, 1937 — November 20, 2014

Carol S. Benka-Terens, 77, Green Bay/Howard, passed on to her heavenly Father early Thursday morning, November 20, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born October 2, 1937, in Milwaukee, she is the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Rytman) Kazmierczak. Carol is a graduate of South Division High School, Milwaukee. She was employed as an administrative assistant with a brokerage firm, later Dept. of Corrections and finally 27 years at Dept. of Work Force Development/DVR with the State of Wisconsin. Carol met Karl in Milwaukee on Oct. 17, 1998, “Sweetest Day”. She married Karl “Karzan” Terens on October 13, 2001 at St. Jude Church, Green Bay. The couple worked side by side as ABC D.J./Karaoke Systems. They were also active serving in their stewardship of ministries as ushers at Sat. 4pm Mass, St. Jude and Sun. 5pm Mass, St. Willebrord Parish. They helped with fundraisers, activities with the St. Jude Booster Club, Knights of Columbus 5382, and Green Bay Marriage Encounter Community Activities.

Carol will also be remembered for her sewing, knitting, gardening and spending time with her friends. She was always available to assist or listen to family members and friends.

She is survived by husband of 13 years, Karl; daughter/grandson, Denise (David) Spencer, AR, Jason Benka, WA; step-daughter/grandson, Samantha Phillips, Dominic Smith, Green Bay; two sisters, Virginia (Larry) Jansen, June (Dennis) Pluskota; brother-in-law, Tim Sczesny all of Milwaukee. Further survived by sister-in-law, Karen Alsteen; brother-in-law, Kelly (friend, Pam) Terens; and also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bonnie Sczesny.

Visitation at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason St., Friday, Nov. 28th, 3-7pm. Knights of Columbus 5382 will conduct short prayer session, 6:30pm Friday. Wake service 7pm Friday with a time of reflections, sharing of memories at funeral home led by Sr. Pat Clement, CSJ. Visitation continues Sat. morning, Nov. 29th, at St. Jude Church, 1420 Division Street, 10am until time of Funeral Mass at 11am with Rev. Donald E. Everts officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum/Nicolet Memorial Gardens at 2pm Mon. Dec. 1st, all are invited. Visit www.malcorefuneralhome.com to share a memory with the family.

Anyone wishing to take photos is welcome at funeral home and St. Jude before and after Mass, with exception of mass time.

Carol’s family extends a special thank you to staffs of Bellin Cancer Center, Bellin Home Health Care, Unity Hospice for caring for Carol. Also to doctors Rahul Verma, Jennifer Burns, Yoon W. Chun, Amy James, Charlie Pan and Hassan Tahsildar. We greatly appreciate family and friends who made extra efforts to help during this difficult time.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is established at the funeral home in Carol’s memory which will be used for some of Carol and Karl’s favorite charities.
