Carol Ann Negratti

October 29, 1949 — March 31, 2016

Carol Ann Negratti, 66, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2016 encircled by her loving family. Carol Ann, born in Rumford, Maine October 29, 1949, was the second of six children born to Al and Alice Negratti. Experiencing trauma at the time of her birth, the medical advice of the day was to “institutionalize her, go on with your lives, she will never walk or talk, and likely will not have a life expectancy beyond 12 years”. Thanks to the staunch faith, determination, and unwavering love of her parents, Carol Ann blossomed to enjoy life and bring joy and meaning to the lives of many.

Carol Ann easily adapted to her surroundings as her family relocated from coast to coast. In 1981 she moved with her parents to Green Bay and began attending ASPIRO. She was actively engaged with all activities, socials and sporting events for 35 years. Carol Ann attended class, worked recycling projects, and participated in any activity lead by “the Guy”. Carol Ann was a Special Olympic medal recipient in Walking, Bowling, and the Softball Throw. She enjoyed trips to the Wisconsin Dells, State Fair, and the annual Fishing Tournament. Music brought special joy to her. Nothing could top her Beatles! Carol Ann “retired” at ASPIRO as she pioneered the Senior Care Program. Today this growing program enriches the lives of individuals with ongoing socialization and skill maintenance as signs of aging or degenerative medical conditions appear.

When a family friend learned of Carol Ann’s passing, she remarked “Carol Ann was truly a special gift to all – everyone should have the experience of meeting a person like her – we could all take a lesson on how to live our lives form Carol Ann”. This prompted her siblings to reflect on the lessons they learned from their precious sister: Always smile, Show appreciation, Eat chocolate, Never judge, Share proactively, Forgive freely, Don’t take yourself seriously, Be pleasant to everyone, Anticipate goodness, Faith prevails, and Family matters most!

Carol Ann is survived by her siblings: Alice Leigh, James, Linda, and Janis; her nieces and nephews: Stephen Negratti, Christian Negratti, Alice Ann Samuel, Katherine Samuel, Albert Samuel, and Francis Samuel; and Ann Negratti and Eugene Samuel. Carol Ann will be missed by her many friends at ASPIRO and Innovative Services.

Preceding her in death are her grandparents, James and Charlotte Negratti; Alice and Leo Hammel; her parents, Al and Alice Negratti; and her brother John Paul Negratti.
