Beverly E. Van Ackeren, 79, Green Bay, died peacefully Friday, March 21, 2014 at Heritage Gardens following a long illness. Born in Stambaugh, Michigan on April 30, 1934, she is the daughter of the late Leonard and Eva (Richard) Williams. She married Edward G. Van Ackeren on July 25, 1954, in Stambaugh, Michigan. He preceded her in death March 3, 1990. Beverly was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Stambaugh for 34 years, 18 years as Postmaster. She interacted with people from the community every day who warmly remember her smile, engaging personality and kindness. She was a past member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Stambaugh, MI and St. Agnes Church in Iron River, MI. Beverly was a huge football fan and an avid Packers fan. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, scrabble, traveling and the piano. Beverly especially cherished time spent with her family and was a loving grandmother.
Survived by her children: Mike Van Ackeren of Crystal Falls, MI, Tim (Mary) Van Ackeren of New Berlin, WI and Ginny (Jim) Schram of Green Bay; six grandchildren: Ali (Keith) Smars of West Allis, Chris Van Ackeren and Mike Van Ackeren both of New Berlin, WI, Nick Schram of Green Bay, Brett Schram and fiancée Leanne Marquez of Albuquerque, NM, Alicia Schram of Green Bay; two great granddaughters: Alannah and Kaelyn Smars. Also survived by a community of family and friends.
Memorial services were held at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 North Baird Street, Green Bay, WI 54302. Burial in Stambaugh Cemetery at a later date.
