Beulah Zellner

January 29, 1928 — June 7, 2017

Beulah Zellner, 89, Green Bay, died peacefully on June 7, 2017, to reunite with her husband, Archie, for their wedding anniversary on June 8th. Born on January 29, 1928, in Gardner, Wis., she is the daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Maccoux) Vandenhouten. Beulah attended Four Corners School for eight years and graduated from Brussels High School in 1944. She worked at the Sturgeon Bay Shipyards from 1945-1946 until the war was over, where she met her loving husband, Archie, whom she was married to for 61 years. She married Arthur (Archie) Zellner on June 8, 1948, who preceded her in death on December 17, 2009. She moved to Green Bay, where she worked at the YMCA Cafeteria, Frandora’s Supper Club, and Riverside Ballroom until her retirement. She sold Avon for 57 years, placing her last order one week ago. Beulah was always known for her fashionable attire and always looked like a million bucks. She enjoyed all four seasons, especially times at family cabins and celebrating the Christmas season with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Beulah also cherished reading books, especially Daniel Steele and Nicholas Sparks. She was a good listener who looked forward to visits from her Avon friends throughout the years. Beulah enjoyed a whiskey and water or peppermint on the rocks. She left this world with dignity knowing her children will carry on her fine fashion and strong family traditions.

Beulah is survived by six children, Dave (Martha) Zellner, Jan (Larry) Schmechel, Mary Landry (Jim Weaver), Marla (Mark) De Wane, Joan (John) Van Ess, and Annette (Jeff) Besaw; 14 grandchildren, Courtney (Leif) Thompson, Kiley (Michael) Bouchez, and Matt Zellner, Brad and Brett Schmechel, and Chandra (Dan) Hodgman, Aaron (Lacy) Landry, Ashley Landry (fiancé, Brandon Jahnke), Kevin (Michelle) De Wane, Casey (Kristin) De Wane, Melanie (Tony) Harris, Amanda (Brandon) Metzner, Miranda and Haley Besaw; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Emery Vandenhouten; sisters-in-law, Deloris (Smitty) Woracheck and Aurelia Dalebroux; brothers-in-law, James Zellner, Donald (Rita) Zellner, Robert Jossart; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie; one sister, Virg Kolstad; sisters-in-law, Janice Vandenhouten, Marilyn Jossart, and Rosella Zellner; brothers-in-law, Jack Kolstad and Gerald Dalebroux; nephews, James Vandenhouten and Randy Dalebroux.
