    Anna Mae VanderMeuse

    June 25, 1931 - February 12, 2022

    Anna Mae VanderMeuse, age 90 of Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital-Green Bay with her family by her side. She was born on June 25, 1931 in Walhain, WI to the late Louis and Emma (Borley) Deterville. Anna Mae was united in marriage to J. Jerry VanderMeuse on June 16, 1951 in Sugar Bush. Anna Mae attended school at the Brick School in the Town of Humboldt. She spent many years taking care of her children and cooking at the Brown County Health Center. Some of her favorites included playing cards, bingo, crochet, puzzles, cooking especially baking, but above all she cherished her time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left to cherish Anna Mae’s memory are her three children, Jean VanderMeuse of Allouez, Ron (Valerie) VanderMeuse of Bellevue and Joan (Joe) Phelps of Tuscaloosa, AL; five grandchildren, Dan (Aina), Ted (Jess) and Rob (Jamie) VanderMeuse, Anna and Maria Jo Phelps; two great grandchildren, Everett and Ephriam VanderMeuse. She is further survived by her brother, Marvin (Angie) Deterville and sister-in-law, Gloria VanderMeuse. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. Jerry; infant brother, Norman; infant sister, Rita; and sister-in-law, Peggy Deterville. A funeral mass will be held for Anna Mae at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (710 N. Baird St.). Fr. Jose Lopez will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Anna Mae will be laid to rest at Nicolet Memorial Park next to her husband. The family asks that everyone in attendance please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to either The Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help of to a memorial of your choosing in Anna Mae’s name. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital and to Unity Hospice for all the love and care they gave to Anna Mae.
