Zachary Paul Larson, 24, of Appleton passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 after a valiant five-day battle with an illness. Zach was born April 11, 1990 in De Pere, WI and graduated from De Pere High School. He enrolled at UW-Madison and was soon accepted into the school of Mechanical Engineering. He was a Badger Fan and traveled to Pasadena in 2011 to attend the Rose Bowl. After graduation he celebrated by traveling with his father to tour the European cities of Amsterdam, Munich, Brussels and Bruges. Upon returning, he became an engineer with the fine people at Menasha Packaging in Neenah, WI.
Zach will be missed by all who experienced his wonderful personality, great attitude and loving heart. He had a fun way of making people feel at ease and could talk to most anyone. Because of that, he was loved by many friends. He cherished his vintage guitars that he loved to play. He enjoyed canoeing and fishing in the Boundary Waters, and was a fine shot with a shotgun.
Zach is survived by his parents, Paula and Daniel, De Pere; sister, Dana Jermstad, her husband Jesse and their son Lukas, De Pere; and his brother, Noah Larson, Appleton. He is also survived by grandparents Lowell and Carolyn Larson, Burlington, WI; his aunts and uncles: Douglas and Nancy Larson, Woodbury, MN; Marit and Tom Gorr, Wauwatosa, WI; David and Julie Larson, Downers Grove, IL; Mary and Greg Ritz, Noblesville, IN; Mark Wiker, Vero Beach, FL; and his cousins: Drake and Bennett Larson; Miles and Kirk Larson; Nicholas and Olivia Gorr; Nicole, Cameron and Nathan Ritz.
Zach was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harry and Annie Wiker.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 14th at Resurrection Catholic Church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the funeral. The funeral liturgy will be held at 12 noon Saturday at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez with Most Rev. Robert F. Morneau officiating.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund has been established.
The family wishes to thank the St. Vincent Hospital ICU staff for their wonderful care and excellent approach in treating Zach; especially Dr. Manar Alshahrouri and his team.
