Violet M. Ney, 91, Green Bay, died peacefully at home on March 27, 2015. Born on December 31, 1923, in Denmark, WI, the daughter of the late Hans “Ben” and Nelia (Jensen) Henningsen. She was a 1941 graduate of Mishicot High School. On October 12, 1946, she married Clarence at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Gibson, WI. Violet worked at Pauly Cheese Company from 1941-1960, and later as a crossing guard for 13 years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and was an avid Packers fan and a season ticket holder for 60 years. Violet was also an active member at Our Saviour Lutheran Church.
Violet is survived by her loving husband, Clarence, Green Bay; one daughter, Cynthia (Gerald) VanKauwenberg, Green Bay; one grandson, Joshua (Jennifer) VanKauwenberg, Cecil; two great grandchildren, Brynn and Kynlee; three brothers-in-law, Louis Ney, George (Dorothy) Ney, Harold (Jean) Ney; one sister-in-law, Caroline Malcheck; and her “special” sister-in-law, Frances (Gladwyn) Doughman; “special” nephew and niece, Allen (Karen) Peckham; and many additional nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine (Delmar) Peckham, and Carol (William) Hopf; one brother and sister-in-law, Arnold (Hazel) Henningsen; two brothers-in-law, Norbert Malcheck, and Nelson Ney; and three sisters-in-law, Helen (Rudy) Bender, Evangeline (Alfred) Engelbrecht, and Ruth Ney.
Visitation at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 S. Henry Street, Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Rev. David Hatch officiating. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
