Ron Joniaux

November 8, 1936 — June 28, 2016

Ron Joniaux of Dyckesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. He was born on November 8th, 1936 to the late Edward and Blanche (Gilson) Joniaux.

Ron faithfully served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. On September 24, 1958 he married Annette Andre. He valued his career with Van’s Lumber, working for them for forty years. He made many friends as he coordinated the building of their homes and cottages.

Ron took great pride in everything he did. He had beautiful flower and vegetable gardens as well as wonderful woodworking projects. He loved feeding the birds and watching for the eagle. Ron enjoyed making chicken booyah for Lion’s Club functions and church picnics. He was proud of bowling a 300 game. Faith in God, service to others, and commitment to family were very important to him.

Ron is survived by his wife, Annette; son, Chris (Julie); daughters, Denise (Jim) Marach; Maria (Joe) Klim; Jane (Ken) Delcore; Patrice (Troy Olund). He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is further survived by sisters, Shirley(Ervin) Vandermause; Jody(Larry)Vandertie; brother, Laurel (Sandy) Joniaux. Two sister-in-laws, Valerie (Hal) Dubois and Priscilla Baudhuin.

He is preceded in death by Ken Landwehr, Wallace(Rose) Andre, Walter Derenne, Mel Deprey, Bernard(LaVerne) Baudhuin and Sister Lucy Andre.

Visitation will be held from 3pm to 8pm at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St, on Friday, July 1 with a prayer service at 8 pm led by Parish director, Pat Ratajczak. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 2 from 9am to 11:00 am at St. Louis Church, Dyckesville with a celebration of his life to follow at 11:00am with Reverend John Van Deuren officiating.

The family would especially like to thank Dr. Patel, the staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center and the first floor staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center as well as Unity Hospice. Staff’s kindness and compassion was evident with each and every visit. You made this journey as comfortable as possible.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established and donations will be given to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, Unity Hospice and St. John’s Homeless Shelter.
