Robert Warren Nichols

October 19, 1931 — February 26, 2018

On the evening of February 26, 2018, Robert Warren Nichols passed away peacefully at home in Green Bay at the age of 86. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1931. Robert was raised in Madison, Wisconsin not far from the university he later attended and loved. He received both his undergraduate degree and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He later continued to practice in the Village of Ashwaubenon and Brown County for the remainder of his career. Robert was a veteran of the Korean War during which he served with the United States Air Force and was stationed at Gimpo Air Base.

In 1959 he married Dennis Ann Downey with whom he shared the final 58 years of his life. He began his law practice in Mosinee, Wisconsin in 1969.

In his personal life he enjoyed competitive bridge, eventually achieving the rank of Ruby Life Master with the American Contract Bridge League. Robert also enjoyed following current events and passionately believed everyone should be treated fairly and justly. He was a lifelong, devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and attended many games at home and on the road, including the 1997 Super Bowl victory.

Robert forever will be missed and loved by his wife Dennis Ann (Downey) Nichols, his children Catherine, Robert Scott and Ann, as well as his grandchildren Rebecca Ann, Katherine Elizabeth, Joseph Warren, Michael Andrew and Rachel Lauren. He is also remembered by his brothers Richard and David Nichols.
Robert is peceded in death by his mother Geraldine (Wright) Nichols, his father Walton Nichols and his eldest brother Walton Nichols.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street this Friday, March 2, 2018 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Visitation will continue Saturday at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 South Oneida Street, from 10 A.M. until the of the funeral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Saturday at Nativity of Our Lord Parish. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial has been established in his memory.
