Robert "Mr. G." Golueke

Robert “Bob” “Mr. G.” Golueke, 69, Green Bay, died on March 10, 2016 at the Unity Hospice residence, after a courageous battle with cancer, with family by his side. Born on September 8, 1946, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Charles and Juel (Fillion) Golueke. Bob is a graduate of St. Francis Grade School in De Pere and Abbott Pennings High, class of 1965. After graduation Bob enlisted in the Navy, serving two tours in Vietnam as a cook with the Seabees (1965-1969). Returning he attended Outagamie Teachers College and UW-Oshkosh, where he received his B.A. in teaching. “Mr. G.” proudly taught 5th grade at St. Bernard Grade School for 35 years. He treasured his many relationships that he formed with other teachers and students and enjoyed creating unique lesson plans. His passions in life included his love for history, reading literature, and spending summers at the family lake near Crivitz. He was a loving uncle who cherished times with his beloved niece and nephews.

Bob is survived by his sister, Mary (Roland) Hebeler, Menasha; brothers, Chuck Golueke, Abrams, and Mark (Ann) Golueke, De Pere; niece, Sarah Hebeler; nephews, Nick Hebeler, Eric (Courtney) Golueke, Scott (Erica) Golueke, and Paul Golueke; and his life-long friend, Jim Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Greg Golueke.

Visitation at St. Bernard Parish, 2040 Hillside Lane, Monday, March 14, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum in the Wall of Honor. Malcore (East) Funeral Home is assisting the family, 432-5579.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and friends at St. Bernard Church and School. They would also like to express their gratitude to the staff at Unity Hospice, and his caregiver and friend, Lucy Ebben.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home to benefit St. Bernard’s School library and Unity Hospice.
