Merrill Carpiaux, 82, Green Bay, died unexpectedly, Sunday, February 15, 2015, at a local hospital. Born in Green Bay, March 4, 1932, he is the son of the late William and Mary (Tureur) Carpiaux. He married the former Lorraine Bunker, September 25, 1954, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Merrill retired from Northern Paper Mill/James River on May 1, 1993. He was a big Packers, Badgers, and Brewers Fan. Merrill loved the outdoors especially times spent with family at the cottage in Crivitz at his annual Booyah Party.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Green Bay; son and daughter-in-law, Mike (Pat) Carpiaux of Green Bay; 2 grandchildren, Nicole (Scott) Eber of Brownsburg, IN and Dr. Aaron (Sonja) Carpiaux of Lexington, KY; great grandchild, Brielle Eber; brothers-in-law, Francis (Eileen) Bunker of DePere and Donald Kuester of Allouez; sisters-in-law, Doris Pfeifer of DePere and Sharon (Thomas) Thelen of Ashwaubenon; further survived by many relatives and friends.
Merrill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gladys (Norbert) McHugh; brothers, Harold (Janet) Carpiaux and Richard Carpiaux; brothers-in-law, Harold (Gloria) Bunker, Irvin Bunker, Raymond (Connie) Bunker, and Clifford Pfieffer; sisters-in-law, Bernard (Shirley) Mysliwiec, and Norma Kuester.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. Parish wake service 7:00 P.M. Wednesday night. Visitation will continue Thursday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony Cirignani, OFM officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
