Matthew M. Gallagher

Matthew M. Gallagher, 42, Neenah, died on July 28, 2014, after a courageous battle. Born on April 28, 1972, in Enid, OK, to the late Daniel Gallagher and Linda (Chaudoir) Larsen.
Matt is survived by his loving son, Collin, Neenah; two sisters, Anna Hansen, Eden Prairie, MN, and Anna Gallagher (Sindy Oakley), Suamico; a step-brother, Scott Gallagher, a step-sister, Denise (Greg) Kohn both of Cedar Falls, Iowa; step-father, Curt Larsen; Matt’s special friend, Kathy Gamm; and his canine companion, Trooper.
Matt graduated from Green Bay Southwest High School in 1991 and attended NWTC. He was proud to be a fifth-generational railroader. He had been employed by Fox River Valley, Wisconsin Central, and Canadian National Railroads as a maintenance foreman before sustaining a back injury. Matt and Trooper were proud members of a Compassionate Canine Therapy Dog Team who visited numerous Veteran, nursing and assisted living homes, and hospitals. He also enjoyed camping and fishing, had a great sense of humor, loved hugs and enjoyed spending time with his best friend and son, Collin.
A celebration of life and gathering will take place at a later date. Malcore (West) Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family, 499-4100.
