Mark R. Kappell, 58, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 26, 1956 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, to Frank and Delores (Grubaugh) Brandt. Mark is a 1975 graduate of Menasha High School. On September 18, 2010, he married Cathy (Shepro) Micheals at Green Bay Community Church.
For over 40 years Mark worked as a machinist – at Zwickers and most recently Triple E Machine. Outside of work, Mark was an avid gardener who also enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Some of his indoor hobbies included cooking, wine & beer making and canning. Mark enjoyed many things in life, but he especially loved line dancing and ballroom dancing with his wife.
Mark had a true and sincere compassion for helping people and was involved in many community service projects. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend whose smiling face will be missed by many.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Kappell, Green Bay; four children, Christina (Don) Wentzel, Panama City, FL, Tracy (Katie) Kappell, Appleton, Melissa (Mark) Stafford, Atlanta, GA, and John (Katelyn) Micheals, Stevens Point; six grandchildren; father, Frank Kappell, Menasha,; five siblings, Kathy (Ron) Kappell, Oneida, Elaine (Mike) Schink, Menasha, Kim (Don) Grant, Appleton, Matt (Cindy) Brandt, Neshkoro, and Debbie (Steve) Riese, Fond du Lac; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Delores (Don) Brandt; one brother, Ron Pauly; and his step-mother, Delores Kappell.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 18th, 2015 at Green Bay Community Church, 600 Cardinal Lane. Memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. held at the church with Pastor Kim Sechler officiating. Malcore (West) Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family, (920)499-4100.
