Marilyn (Thomas) Stary, 76, Green Bay, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013. Born on August 9, 1936, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Winford and Harriet (Vanden Heuvel) Thomas. She married Allen Stary on June 21, 1958, at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Green Bay. Marilyn worked at the Catholic Diocese in Green Bay for Catholic Charities. Later in her career she worked for CESA #7, East De Pere High School, and NEWIST. Marilyn loved knitting and crocheting keepsakes including sweaters, afghans, personalized Christmas stockings, and baby items. She enjoyed baking and cooking and always made sure everyone had their favorite treat. Marilyn was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Allen; five children, Randy (Carrie) Stary, Beth Bain, Debbie Stary, Gail (Wayne) Bergman, and David (Karan) Stary; twelve grandchildren; one brother, Norb (Linda) Thomas; three sisters, Carole Thomas, Claire Thomas, and Janice Thomas.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her four brothers, Winford “Win” Thomas, Larry Thomas, Jerry Thomas, and Jim Thomas; one sister, Lorraine Thomas and one infant sister, Delores.
Visitation at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthews Street, Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 3:30 PM with Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. MALCORE (EAST) Funeral Home is caring for the family. Visit
