Marian H. Besaw, 94, Green Bay, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, died at a local nursing home on May 5, 2013, with family by her side. Born on December 2, 1918, in Sturgeon Bay, she is the daughter of the late Albert and Elsie (Karnitz) Ploor. On April 26, 1944, she married Vincent C. Besaw, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1988. Marian loved to garden, can food from her garden, make cookies for friends and relatives, and babysit grandchildren. She spent many years cleaning homes, which she did well into her 80’s.
Marian is survived by one daughter, Judy Carter (special friend, George), New Franken; two sons, Bruce (Mary) Besaw, Green Bay, Bart (Mary Ellen) Besaw, Luxemburg; seven grandchildren, Trent (fiancée, Ann Marie), Brett, and James, II, Van Drisse, Nicci and Corey Besaw, and Kelsie and Cassandra Besaw; four great grandchildren, Austin, Nicolas, James, III, and Vincent Van Drisse; and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Pfiefer Ploor; and one sister, Grace Ploor; one son-in-law, Lloyd Carter; and one grandson, Scott Besaw.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird Street, Saturday (May 11, 2013) from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Funeral service 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Deacon Mike Vincent officiating. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
