Magdalene “Madge” Hartinger, 94, Green Bay, died peacefully, Friday, August 2, 2013, after a brief illness. Born in Oconto Falls, March 2, 1919, she is the daughter of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Meier) Marquardt. Madge married Joe Hartinger, January 29, 1944, in Green Bay and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2012. She worked side by side with her husband Joe at Hartinger Refrigeration for over 65 years. Madge spent the last 30 winters at Nettles Island, Jensen Beach, FL. She enjoyed playing cards and never missed bingo on Tuesday nights down in Florida. Madge was active in the horseshoe club at Nettles Island.
She is survived by her sister, Claire (Bob) Lambert of Green Bay and sister-in-law, Elaine Marquardt of Oconto Falls.
Madge loved all her nieces and nephews and was especially close to Judy (Richard) Owen of Flintville, Bob (Marsha) Becker of St. Louis, MO, Ruth (John) Etter of De Pere, Marie (Marvin) Degeneffe of Kewaunee, Sharon (John) Rademacher, and Susan (Ralph) Lambert-Tease all of Green Bay.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Theodore (Edith) Marquardt, Alfred (Hazel) Marquardt, Elizabeth (Gerald) Becker, William (Sally) Marquardt, Howard Marquardt, and Nathalie (Kenneth) Brunette.
Visitation at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, Tuesday, August 27th from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Mark Vander Steeg officiating.
