Joyce A. Basten

Joyce A. Basten, 88, Green Bay, died Friday, November 14, 2014 at a local nursing home. Born in Luxemburg, April 5, 1926, she is the daughter of the late Norman and Alice (Boucher) DePas. She married Lyle J. Basten February 7, 1945, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2008. Joyce drove school bus and worked for Northeast Asphalt for 23 years. She was the last original member of the Preble School Board where she assisted in the addition on to the High School. Joyce was a member and volunteer at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She spent her spare time knitting caps and blankets for Aurora BayCare Hospital and playing card. Joyce is survived by her children, Lyle L. (Karen) Basten of Humboldt, and Glenn (LaVerne) Basten of Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Robert (Penny) Basten, Neil (Julie) Basten, Randy Basten, Renee (Jesse) Boncher, Ryan (Leslie) Basten, Richard (Jenny) Basten, and Chad (Kelly) Basten; 13 great grandchildren, Cody, Kailey, Austen, Greta,...
