Joseph P. Everetts, 97, Green Bay, died peacefully at his home on November 20, 2013, with his immediate family by his side. Born on October 30, 1916, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Arthur and Julia (Gille) Everts. In 1936, he married the former Ora Jones, and she preceded him in death. Joe served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from 1942-1945. He worked at Green Bay Packaging as a millwright for over 30 years. In retirement he worked and volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul, where he continued his service until May 2013. On September 9, 1979, he married the former Donna Deprey. Joe will be fondly remembered in the neighborhood for his ability to fix all of the children’s bicycles. He was also an avid sports fan, and loved watching the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Donna; five children, Pat (Bob) Rickaby, Algoma, Joe Everetts (special friend, Lynn), De Pere, David (Tracy) Fruzyna, Sue Glaser (special friend, Rob), and Shelly (Rick) Conard, all of Green Bay; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and his “special buddy” Jesse, who has been by Joe’s side since Jesse was born.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; one sister and brother-in-law, “Sis” and Cy Thyrion; one son-in-law, Rick Glaser; and his parents.
Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St., Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral 12:00 p.m. (noon) Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Patrick Gawrylewski, OFM officiating. Burial at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
