Joseph “Joe” B. Blaha, 81, Ashwaubenon, died peacefully at his home on May 10, 2013. Born on August 1, 1931, in Sturgeon Bay, he is the son of the late Joseph and Dora (Kintopf) Blaha. On January 22, 1955, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Mikels at St. Peter’s Church in Sturgeon Bay. Joe worked as a lab technician at Fort Howard, until his retirement. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling in his younger years. He and Betty loved traveling to many destinations throughout the years.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Betty; one son, Mark (Debra) Blaha, Sturgeon Bay; four grandchildren, Efrem (Kelly) Blaha, Amanda (Kyle) Campbell, both of Green Bay, Emily Blaha, Sturgeon Bay, and Kassie Blaha, Green Bay; one great granddaughter, Brynleigh Blaha; one brother, Jim (Char) Blaha, Sheyboygan; one sister, Judy (Bill) Besler, Alpena, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Michael Blaha.
Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home & Crematory, Monday (May 13, 2013) from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Hansen officiating. Burial at Bayside Cemetery in Sturgeon Bay.
