John Gordon Fontaine

June 8, 1956 — January 12, 2014

John Gordon Fontaine, Crivitz, formerly of Green Bay, died on January 12, 2014, at an Iron Mountain, MI, hospital, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 8, 1956, in Waukegan, IL, he is the son of Virginia (Posik) and the late Gordon Raphael Fontaine. John proudly served in the United States Navy from 1975-1979, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking for all of his friends and family, golfing, and betting on football games.

John is survived by two sisters, Toni (Joseph) Mercurio, Cohasset, MA, Barb Fontaine, Green Bay; mother, Virginia Fontaine, Green Bay; three nephews, Christopher, Daniel, and Marc (Kristen); one niece, Andrea; one great nephew, Matthew; and one great niece, Abigail; numerous cousins and extended family; special friends, Dale and Tina, Pam and Steve, Carol, Curt, Diane, Michael, his visiting nurse, Heidi, and many other close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; and one aunt, Pauline Fontaine.

Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St., Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial service 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kim Sechler officiating.
