Gerard “Jerry” M. VanDenack, 61, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 17, 2013, of a heart attack. Born on April 17, 1952, he is the son of the late Harvey and Verne VanDenack. He was born and raised in Green Bay and graduated from Southwest High School. Jerry married Carol De Gelleke in 1976 in Green Bay and she preceded him in death in April of 2011. They then lived in Fort Atkinson where Jerry worked at the Wand Corporation. Returning to Green Bay in 1988, he worked for Carver Yachts and Brown County Cabinets. Upon retiring from Brown County Cabinets he continued his carpentry and craftsman skills. Jerry’s passion was spending time with his grandchildren showing them how to build the wooden projects and building wooden toys for them. He was a HUGE Packer fan.
He is survived by his two children, Robert (Crystal), and Christina VanDenack; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Skyler, Kaitlyn, Jazmin, Natasha, Nevaeh, and Steven; five sisters, Paula (Bob) Koury, Arlene (Fred) Kaminski, Janice (Jerry) Bero, Shirley (Jim) Goral, and Carole (Bob) Walus; special friends, Penny Dier, Julie (Mike) Ignasiak, and Denise (Brian) Bosar; two uncles, Clarence Vandenack, and Jim (Jackie) VanDenack; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and Carol VanDenack.
Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home University Ave at Baird St. Friday from 9 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Bruce Panghorn officiating.
