James “Jim” John Lardinois, 73, Champion, died as a result of complications of COPD at LifeCare Hospitals of Wisconsin on August 20, 2014. Born on January 24, 1941, in Champion, he is the son of the late Orville and Laura (VanderVest) Lardinois, Sr. Jim was employed at Dean Foods as a forklift operator for over 35 years. He also owned and operated Lardinois Lumberland from 1979-2011. Jim was a workaholic, and did electrical and plumbing work on the side. Jim loved spending time at his cabin at Landing Ten near Crivitz, where he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his longtime companion, Joyce Behrendt. He also liked snowmobiling in his younger days.
Jim is survived by six siblings, Marvin (Virginia) Lardinois, Bay Settlement, Eleanor (Kenny) Kassner, Slovan, Carol Bertrand, New Franken, Janice (Ken) Sampo, Dyckesville, Orv (Judy) Lardinois, New Franken, and Barbara Lardinois, New Franken; brother-in-law, Garfield Davister, many nieces and nephews; and his companion, Joyce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Rose Marie Davister.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., Sunday from 4 – 8 p.m., with a parish wake service and rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday at St. Joseph Church – Champion, 5996 County Road K, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Andrew J. Kurz officiating.
