James Berceau

December 12, 1927 — December 16, 2013

James “Jim” Berceau, 86, Green Bay, went to celebrate Christmas with his wife, daughter, family, and friends on Monday December 16, 2013. He was born on December 12, 1927, to the late Elmer and Luella (Haevers) Berceau. On June 10, 1950, he married Carol LeComte. Jim attended Central Catholic High School and was part of the first four year graduating class of 1945. He served in the Navy toward the end of WWII. After the war, Jim attended St. Norbert College. For over 30 years Jim ran service stations in Allouez. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 617. Jim enjoyed pheasant hunting at Lazy Acres Hunting Club and many amazing memories with family and friends at his cottage on Archibald Lake.

Jim is survived by his children, Thomas (Kathy) Berceau, and Amy (Philip) Mattek; son-in-law, Del Keup; grandchildren, Matthew (Laura) and Adam Lenss, Danielle and Tyler Mattek, Nicole (Paul) Kuhn, Mia Frazey, Brenda (David) Keup-Stephens, and Rhonda Reuther; great grandchildren, Anna and Eli Lenss, Lucy Kuhn, Karissa, and Daniel (Stephine) Pizzarella; great great grandchild, Vincent Pizzarella; sisters, Toni Berceau, Mary (Roger) DeGroot, and Clare (James) Burke; sisters-in-law, Lois Berceau and Beatrice Bloomer; family friend, Pat Hussey.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Luella (Haevers) Berceau; wife, Carol (LeComte) Berceau; daughter, Ann (Berceau) Keup; brother John Berceau; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alphonse and Minnie (Bomber) LeComte; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joanne (LeComte) and Hilary Dubois.

Visitation at St Matthews Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthews St., Friday from 8:30 AM until the time of the memorial service at 10:30 AM.

The family would like to thank all of the amazing care-givers and residents at Bishop’s Court Assisted Living who have become family over the last two years and the compassionate care givers and volunteers of Heartland Hospice. We could not have made it without all of you. For those of you that knew Jim: “Thanks for the use of the hall!”
