Isabelle J. Des Jarlais

September 9, 1925 — September 2, 2014

Isabelle J. Des Jarlais, 88, Green Bay, found peace on Tuesday evening, September 2, 2014, at St. Clare Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls due to complications of her diabetes. Born September 9, 1925, in Crivitz, she is the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Gromoski) Nemojeski. Isabelle married Norbert “Norb” DesJarlais on May 1, 1948 after he returned from his service during WW II. Norb preceded her in death on February 1, 2003. She was very proud of her times waitressing at the H.C. Prange’s Terrace Room and also the Grill. Isabelle will be remembered for her appreciation of flowers of all kinds, love of her family, but especially doting on her grandchildren.

Isabelle is survived by four children, Mary (Jack) Fischer of Colorado, Joe (Bonita) Des Jarlais of Green Bay, Nancy (Mark) Mroczynski of Gillett, Charles (Lisa) DesJarlais of Appleton; one daughter-in-law, Christine Des Jarlais of Green Bay; one foster daughter, Wendy (Charles) Petitt of Janesville; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn (Floyd) Spice of Pulaski; one sister-in-law, Ann DeJarlais of Montello; special nephew, Ron Ronsman of Green Bay; special niece, Jackie (Dwight) Nemojeski of Wallace, MI; and many other nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Norb; her eldest son, Norbert “Norbie”; four grandchildren, Little Charlie, Laura, Zachary and Gabby; a special niece, Audrey Ronsman; and brothers and sisters.

Visitation at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Tuesday, September 9th, from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 P.M. with her nephew, Ron Ronsman officiating. Please join us in celebrating our mother’s life as well as her 89th Birthday.

Isabelle’s family extends a very special thank you to her many friends in Gillett that she made while living with her daughter, Nancy (Mark) and also the caring staff of Woodland Village Nursing Home (Gillett); also, thank you to Lonnie who took mom under his wings and made her feel safe.
