Helen L. Wright

Helen L. Wright, 88, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5, 2013. Born on September 29, 1924, she is the daughter of the late Gilbert and Lucille Rogers. She married James R. Wright on October 10, 1944, in Florida, and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1996. Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 58 years. She was involved with P.E.O.- Chapter N, for 55 years. Helen was also a member of the Oneida Country Club. She enjoyed volunteering at various organizations in the Green Bay community, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Lastly, she was an active member of Service League. She loved all sports, especially golf and the Green Bay Packers. Helen also loved following her children with all of their sporting and scholastic activities. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Helen is survived by her three children and their spouses, James R. (Debbie) Wright, Jr., Milwaukee, Gilbert (Kathi) Wright, Green Bay, and Jane (Ron) Evans, Adrian, MI; eleven grandchildren, Jimmy Wright, Jon (Katie) Wright, Kelly (Tony) Calvino , Chrissy Wright, Ben Wright, USMC SSgt. Eric Wright, Lydia Wright, Andrew Evans, Hannah (Tim) Cousino, Daniel Evans, and Rachel Evans; great grandchild Parker; one sister, Beck (Ron) Cordes; one brother, Johnny (Judy) Rogers; one sister-in-law, Barbara Rogers and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years, James; one grandson, Zachary Evans; one sister, Geri Evans; one brother, Lawrence Rogers.

Visitation at First United Methodist, 501 Howe St., Saturday, May 11, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. (noon) with the Rev. Dave Wilkinson Officiating. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Unity Hospice and all of her friends who meant so much to her.
