Hazel Thyrion Hayden Zich, 68, Green Bay, died peacefully, Monday, June 9, 2014, at home with her husband by her side. Born in Green Bay, May 15, 1946, she is the daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Peerenboom) Thyrion, Sr. Hazel married Jerry Zich, June 24, 1989, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Green Bay. She acquired an Associate Degree in Accounting while raising her four children, worked at Green Bay Drop Forge for several years, and then worked at the Salvation Army of Brown County as Business Manager of the west side and later Coordinator at the Kroc Center. Hazel enjoyed going to her cottage in Door County and spending time with her friends there. She loved times spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome “Jerry” Zich; 7 children, Laurie (Art) Johnson all of Green Bay, Lynn (Denis) Craanen of New Franken, Todd (Virginia Johnson) Hayden of Oneida, Gary (Clarissa) Hayden of Mazatlán, MX, Amy (Spike) Mitok of Door County, Jeff (Deb) Zich of Green Bay, and Tracy (Glen Merkle) McDonald of Door County; 8 grandchildren, Nicole (Greg), Courtney (Josh), Evan, Jac, Shannon, Holly, Becky (Josh), and Harrison; 3 great grandchildren, Isaac, Gregory, and Gabriella; siblings, Patricia Dury, Richard (Sharon) Thyrion, Robert Thyrion, Alvin Thyrion, Sue DeGrave, Tom Thyrion, Leonard (Sharon) Thyrion, Nancy (Larry) Huven, Roseanne (Russ) Kloehn, and Judy (Ed) Charlier; nieces and nephews.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Sean; siblings, Shirley Ann, Alex “Bucky” Thyrion, Jr., and JoJo Santy.
Visitation at The Salvation Army, Kroc Center, 1315 Lime Kiln Road, Green Bay, Thursday, from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral at 3:00 P.M. with Major Don Kincaid officiating. Malcore (West) Funeral Home is caring for the family. Burial at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
