Gerald “Gerry” Lodl, 80, Abrams, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 at home. Born May 4, 1935, in Manitowoc, he is the son of the late Leo and Vanny (Westphal) Lodl. Gerry is a graduate of Catholic Central. He faithfully served in the U.S. Army for three years, serving in Alaska. Gerry married Sally Stram in 1962 and together the couple raised their three boys. He worked as a switchman for many years, retiring from the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. Gerry will be remembered for his enjoyment of playing golf, collecting and shooting his many guns, building various models, feeding the wild birds, and was a huge Packer fanatic.
Gerry is survived by his three sons, Richard (special friend Tena), David, and Donald Lodl and their mother Sally Lodl,; one brother, Leon Lodl, all of Green Bay; 6 grandchildren, Zakery Kaminski, Race Lodl, Sophina Todd, Damia Reynolds, Charlotte Lodl, and Trenton Lodl; special nephews and niece, Steve (Rudelin) Lodl, Carrie Lynn Walters, and Peter (Carol) Lodl; and all his golfing buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Dana Lodl.
