Donald N. Egge, 70, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, 2016, at a local hospital with his loving wife at his side. Born on Aug. 21, 1946, in Ashland, WI, he is the son of the late Ted and Astrid (Johnson) Egge. Donnie served in the US Marine Corps beginning in 1966 and served in the Vietnam War in the 7th Motor Transport Bn - “The Flying A” from 1967-1969. Donnie was a member of American Legion Post #11. He was a proud owner/operator driving over the road since his military discharge and right up to the present. Donnie married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie LeFevre on May 20, 1997, in Green Bay. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of sports, especially the Packers and NASCAR. Donnie always loved cooking at all the holiday meals and family gatherings, whether for 2 or 200.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Jeff (Jennifer) Egge, Jon (Pam) Egge; step-children, Jamie (Chris) Gunville, Kim (Steve Haapala) Nelsen; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Ted Egge; three sisters, Barbara (Felix “Phil”) Hartung, Alyce (special friend, Charlie) Pellus, and Kim Schmitt; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; special family friend, R.J. Gates; Jeff and Jon’s mother, Judy Kadlec; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Reuben and Bernice LeFevre; one brother-in-law, Ted Pellus; and one sister-in-law, Linda LeFevre.
Visitation at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Friday, Nov. 18th from 9am until the time of the services. American Legion Post 11, tribute service Friday, 11am followed by the memorial service at the funeral home with full military honors to follow.
