Dedrick “Dean” Davis, 75, De Pere, died peacefully on May 3, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 2, 1937, in Sparta, Wisconsin, he is the son of the late Frederick and Hazel (Muck) Davis. Dean is a 1955 graduate of Green Bay West High School. On January 14, 1961, he married the former Tamara J. Melville at Grace Lutheran Church. Dean served in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1965. He worked for Kelley Photo until his retirement in 2001. Dean loved to travel with his wife, especially to Florida, where resided for several years during retirement. His favorite hobby was skeet and trap. Before being diagnosed with cancer, he drove as a medical transport driver for Lamers. He always enjoyed the Tuesday breakfast with his special friends.
Dean is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Tamara; and his only child, Cheryl“Sherri” (Michael) Rosera.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister.
According to Dean’s wishes, there will be no funeral home visitation. However a public memorial prayer will be read in the Fort Howard Cemetery Chapel Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 2 pm, by Chaplain Steve Fewell. MALCORE (East) Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements, 432-5579.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund will be established, which will benefit the American Cancer Society.
