Clifford Doxtator

February 20, 1928 — August 2, 2014

Clifford Doxtator, 86, Oneida, passed away, Saturday, August 2, 2014. Born on February 20, 1928, he is the son of the late Clifford and Melinda Doxtator. Clifford is one of twelve children born and raised on a milking farm in Ashwaubenon. He was drafted on October 26, 1950, serving in the United States Army, and did his basic training at Camp Pickett in Virginia. Clifford was promoted many times with his final promotion being as Sergeant. He served in Germany for one year before returning to the United States in October, 1952. Upon returning home Clifford was very proud of his involvement in the Oneida Nation Color Guard, American Legion, Codetalkers, and Elks Lodge #259. In 2002 he was honored as the veteran volunteer of the year with the Elks. Clifford also received an eagle feather on November 6, 2010, which is the highest honor for a veteran in the Oneida Tribe. He worked as a Lodge tiler for twelve years, for the Chicago and Northwestern Rail Road where he was involved in three train wrecks, and was Chairman of the Commission on Aging for three years. Clifford was also a volunteer for the King Veterans Hospital. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and playing bingo.

Clifford is survived by his two children, Randall (Lisa) Doxtator, and Mary Jo (Swanzie) Nash both of Green Bay; brothers and sisters, Marilyn Danforth, Gloria Doxtator, Allen (Mary Jane) Doxtator, Victor Doxtator, Clarissa (Stanley) Alexander, and Ruth Ann Miller; many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlyle Doxtator; brothers and sisters, Jane Doxtator, Roman Doxtator, Donald Doxtator, Patricia Doxtator, and Rachel Reed.

Visitation at Fort Howard Cemetery, 1350 N. Military Ave, Green Bay, WI, Friday August 8th, from 9 AM until the time of the memorial service at 10 AM with Everett Doxtator officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Anna John Nursing Home for their personal care and comfort for his final journey. Also, a thank you to Fort Howard Cemetery and Malcore Funeral Home for their guidance and support.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home for Wisconsin Veterans Home at King.
