Carole Thomas, 74, Green Bay, passed away February 27, 2016 after a courageous battle. Born on May 12, 1941, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Winford N. and Harriet (Vanden Heuvel) Thomas. Carole graduated from St. Matthew’s class of ’55 and then she went to St. Joseph’s academy graduating in ’59. She then attended the Vocational School where she acquired her practical nurses certification. Carole worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, and Brown County Mental Health center as an LPN retiring in 2004. She enjoyed flower gardening, bicycling with her twin Claire, reading, jigsaw puzzles, adult coloring, and playing cards with friends who she graduated from grade school with. Carole especially loved times spent with her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by two siblings, her twin sister, Claire, and her brother, Norbert (Linda) Thomas; sisters-in-law, Val Thomas, and Ellie Thomas; brother-in-law, Al Stary; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Win (Audrey) Thomas, Larry Thomas, Gerald (Eunice) Thomas, and Jim Thomas; sisters, Lorraine Thomas, Marilyn Stary, Janice Thomas, and Dolores Thomas; one nephew, Matthew Thomas.
Visitation at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthews St., Wednesday, March 2, from 9 AM until the time of the funeral Mass at 11 AM. Burial at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Grancare Rehab center.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.
