C. Wilbert “Willie” McGuire, 71, Green Bay, died on May 26, 2014. Born on June 22, 1942, in Escanaba, MI, he is the son of the late Chester and Thelma (Erickson) McGuire. On April 26, 1966, he married the former Diane DeBaker at St. Agnes Church, and she preceded him in death on March 16, 2003. Willie was employed at Lindquist and Bay Industrial as a machinist for most of his career. He was a long-time member of St. Patrick’s Church. Willie enjoyed listening to country music, dancing, and exercising. More than anything, he cherished times with family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Willie also treasured times spent with his long-time girlfriend, Leona.
Willie is survived by one son, Greg (Christine) McGuire, Green Bay; two grandchildren, Emily and Abby McGuire; girlfriend, Leona Platten; five siblings, Roy (Bonnie) McGuire, Green Bay, Mary (Robert) Bauer, Ethel (Lem) Labonte, Richard (Donna) McGuire, and Linda (Richard) Lantagne, all of Michigan; two brothers-in-law, Stephen Labonte, and Marvin (Barb) Casperson; three sisters-in-law, Joyce (Clint) Gereau, Carol DeBaker, and Sharon McGuire; father-in-law, Edsel (Dorothy) DeBaker; mother-in-law, Beatrice DeBaker; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; his parents; one brother, John McGuire; and two sisters, Dianna Labonte, and Margaret Casperson.
Visitation at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason St., Saturday (May 31, 2014) from 2:00 p.m., until the time of the service. Funeral service 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Don Everts officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
The family would like to extend a special thank you the staff at Golden LivingCenter and Unity Hospice. They would also like to thank Leona Platten for her love and devotion to Willie for the past several years.
